AD Conference (6th to 9th March, 2018)
The Gambia Competition and Consumer Protection Commission hosted the 9th Annually African Consumer Protection Dialogue conference from the 6th – 9th March, 2018. The event was organized in collaboration with the Public Utility Regulatory Authority (PURA) and the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
The theme for the conference was: “Protecting Every Consumer in a Digital Age.”
The three-day event brought together African Consumer Protection and Competition agencies, experts, civil society groups and other relevant stakeholders to discuss and evaluate the effectiveness of policies, existing laws, cross border cooperation and means of better protecting consumers in the digital world.
The conference availed The Gambia and indeed the commission, the opportunity to forge relationships with relevant players in the sector, share best practices in legislative and enforcement approaches to consumer protection and competition matters.
