NOTICE OF HEARING

The Gambia Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (GCCPC) has concluded an investigation into the pricing practices of community radio stations across The Gambia. The investigation, initiated under Section 15(b) of the Competition Act 2007, was prompted by concerns over a uniform pricing structure of D3,000 per hour for airtime being applied by multiple community radios despite operating in different geographic and cost environments.
Evidence obtained through interviews, invoices, receipts, and minutes from the July 16, 2023 Annual General Meeting of the Network of Community Radios – The Gambia (NCRG), revealed potential collusive price-fixing in contravention of Section 25(2) of the Competition Act 2007.
In line with its mandate under Section 47 of the Act, the Commission hereby schedules a hearing to provide the parties involved an opportunity to respond before any penalty or directive is imposed.
Date of Hearing: Wednesday, 16th July 2025
