VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

TITLE: LEGAL AND ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

REPORTS TO: LEGAL AND ENFORCEMENT MANAGER

OVERALL FUNCTION: To assist the Manager of legal & enforcement in the enforcement of the Acts under the Commission’s purview.

SPECIFIC TASKS

  • Assist in the drafting of legal instruments/documents needed by the Commission.
  • Assist in the planning and carrying out of the Department’s quarterly activities.
  • Provide legal advice and technical support to Consumer Protection Tribunals.
  • Work with the Consumer Protection and Competition Departments in sensitizing businesses and providing advice to consumers on their rights and duties.
  • Provide the Head of Department with regular updates and written quarterly reports on activities carried out, accomplishments and constraints.
  • Provide legal and procedural input to market investigations and studies on Competition and Consumer Protection.
  • Carry out any other tasks assigned by the Head of Department.

Qualifications & Experience

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in law.
  2. Enrolled as a legal practitioner
  3. Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills
  4. Advance knowledge of a wide range of software.
